2026 GERIATRICS – FBN 2.0 Hours

OBJECTIVES:

• To enable a person to serve as a professional, personal advocate for a senior or disabled person
• To help managing, rendering and referring various types of health and social care services for the elderly
• To meet long-term care needs and improve quality of life
• To maintain the person’s independence for as long as possible
• To help understanding what is unique about the health, care and assessment of older adults
• To help prevention, diagnosis and management of geriatric syndromes
• To know care transitions, medication management, maintaining older adults’ function and well-being
• To enable working with older adults and families to set care goals
• To enable coordinating care with interdisciplinary teams and providing social services and supports
